Designed by Marcel Breuer, 1925
Marcel Breuer was an apprentice at the Bauhaus when he started experimenting with tubular steel to build a more transparent chair. Inspired by the frame of a bicycle and influenced by the constructivist theories of the De Stjil movement, Breuer reduced the shape of the classic club armchair to its basic lines and plans.
